Inaugural Plenary : 1000 - 1120 hrs |
| |
| India has consistently been strengthening its medical infrastructure through fresher public investments and by adopting newer models such as Public Private Partnerships to increase penetration of healthcare services. This growth will be accompanied by demand for associated products such as medical equipment.
The impressive growth of the $2 billion Indian Medical technology industry in the last five years has opened an exciting and a viable market opportunity for domestic and international players. The penetration of medical technology, however, has been largely urban centric, making quality healthcare less accessible to the masses. This Inaugural Plenary will set the tone on the role of Medical Technology in penetration of Healthcare in India and present an overview of the opportunities that lie ahead.
Thus the Summit will set the tone “Leveraging Technology for Transforming Standards of Care” |

| For providers, access to medical technology can be enabled by providing innovative financing solutions as well as leveraging native innovative and entrepreneurial skills for making technology more affordable. This affordability can only be possible when financial institutions extend their schemes to small, large and mid sized healthcare providers. Here the focus will be on the role of PE and venture capital innovations, leasing of medical equipments, the need of leasing, opportunity and regulation of leasing and funding of second hand medical equipments. This plenary will also address the most cost effective treatment under the umbrella of Made In India , Made For India . where the current scenario in India and its high import costs has pushed many small players to innovate alternate solutions and products at a low cost. And thus determining such products and identifying segments that require these products and markets have also evolved. |
